Topiwala National Medical College and B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital is a prestigious government medical college in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Established on 4th September 1921, it is one of the oldest medical colleges in the city, offering the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and recognized by the Medical Council of India. The college has an annual intake of 150 undergraduate students, selected based on merit through the National Eligibility and Entrance Test.

The institution's history is rich, having been initially affiliated to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Bombay, and later acknowledged and affiliated by the Bombay University and Municipal Corporation of the city of Bombay.

The hospital associated with the college, B.Y.L. Nair Charitable Hospital, has a remarkable legacy. Dr. AL Nair donated two acres of land for the hospital campus, and in 1925, he helped establish a well-equipped hospital, which was later named after his mother, Bai Yamunabai Laxman Nair. The campus has since expanded to twenty acres, providing training courses in more than 25 different medical and allied branches, including 9 super-specialty courses.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Nair hospital served as a dedicated hospital for the treatment of patients with COVID-19, successfully treating 6000 patients and delivering 500 COVID-19 positive mothers' babies.

The institution has a significant role in medical education, healthcare, and research in the region, making it a cornerstone of medical excellence in Mumbai.
