The government of Prafulla Chandra Sen Medical College Arambagh established a new medical college in Arambagh, Hooghly district, West Bengal, India under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, Phase-II during the year 2022. The college,located in Arambagh has been established to extend high standard medical education as well as medical services to the region. The institution is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and the principal of the college is Prof. (Dr.) Ramprasad Roy. The construction of the college is in line with the CSS Phase II which had been rolled out by the Indian Government and the college is actively seeking the NMC approval to enrol its first batch of MBBS students in the span of 2022-2023.

History and Location

PCSGMCH is located in the centre of Arambagh town, now Sub-divisional Headquarter of the Arambagh subdivision, which is situated in the highly scenic district of Hooghly, this college will serve the hopes and aspirations of a number of medical students. Getting to College is simple from any part of West Bengal since it is strategically positioned along SH7 and is about 90 kilometers from the city of Calcutta. The college was established for the purpose of meeting the medical requirements of a large population and creating professional doctors for our society.

PCSGMCH caters for full degree progression in medicine which leads to the award of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
