The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has communicated its final decisions regarding applications for starting new postgraduate (PG) medical courses and increasing seats in existing PG medical courses for the academic year 2024-25. This announcement pertains to 195 additional applications and has been conveyed via email to the concerned medical institutions and colleges.
The recent update follows MARB's public notice dated April 28, 2024. The 195 applications include 139 for starting new PG medical courses and 56 for increasing seats in existing courses. Institutions have been informed to take necessary actions within the stipulated timeline.
For transparency and public awareness, a list containing the application numbers of these 195 decisions has been attached to the public notice. This move ensures that stakeholders and interested parties can track the progress and decisions regarding medical education enhancements.
Previously, MARB had communicated its decisions on 413 online applications, as noted in public notices issued on April 28, May 4, May 10, and May 18, 2024. These earlier decisions encompassed 297 applications for new PG medical courses and 116 applications for increasing seats in existing PG courses.
This ongoing communication process is part of MARB's efforts to streamline and enhance postgraduate medical education in India, addressing the growing demand for advanced medical training and specialization.
Medical institutions and colleges are urged to check their registered email IDs for the official communication and ensure timely compliance with the instructions provided by the MARB.
