Accreditations:
When choosing a medical college number 1 thing you should check is the universities accreditations.
Local Accreditations: Make sure the college is accredited or licensed by the governing body of the country.
WHO Accreditations: Majority of the colleges are listed by WHO in their website WDOMS (world directory of medical school). Only the school listed in this website has global validity.
WFME: World Federation of Medical Education is also part of WHO, in recent years developed countries like USA, Canada etc. accepts doctors trained who trained from WFME accredited schools. It is always good to study in a institution with WFME accreditations as this can be implemented by other countries in the near future.
Fees:
Most of the countries offer Undergraduate medical education much cheaper, ranging from $2500 to $5000 per year. Always find an institution that fits your budget. All the money you saved during your UG can be spent for your Post graduate Medical Education.
Hospital Facilities:
Hands on experience is a must in Medical Education, wherever you study a good clinical exposure will bring you high accolades and will help you pass the licensing examination. Always choose a university with a hospital with good patient flow. Something like a Government University.
Staff to Student Ratio:
Staff to student ratio is a very important thing to consider when you choose a medical school. Recommended ratio is less than 1:15. If the ratio is higher than the recommended value, the over concentration of students will decline the quality of coaching.
Infrastructure:
Basic Amenities like Labs, Libraries, hostel and digital classrooms. Make sure the University you choose has advanced facilities to compete with the demanding requirement of the modern world.
