Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences

The Sri Lakshmi Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SLIMS) is a medical school located in Pondicherry, India. The college was founded in 2006, it is affiliated with Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research (Deemed University) in Chennai and it is approved by the Government of India and National Medical Commission (NMC) as well.

MBBS: The college reserves 150 MBBS seats. Admission is based on the NEET - UG exam, and candidates must satisfy, in full, the eligibility criteria set forth by NMC.

Postgraduate Programs:

MD & MS: Within 11 disciplines like Radiodiagnosis, Psychiatry, General Medicine, Dermatology and others, SLIMS has 30 seats to offer 11 specialities. Such students who wish to get trained in such specialities, admissions are done on the grounds of the NEET-PG score.

Facilities

Campus: The campus measures 50 acres which has lecture halls, laboratories, library, staff chambers, seminar rooms, conference rooms and an auditorium. Throughout the campus, it has provision of infrastructural facilities catering for other sports and other activities.

Hospital Bed Capacity: This hospital is a teaching hospital with a bed complement of greater than 600 and provides patients with care that is multispecialty, diagnostic, rehabilitative as well as preventive services.

Emergency Services: The institution has been stocked with equipment that is capable of dealing with any nature of cases that include casualties, trauma, accidents and sudden medical emergencies.

Diagnostic Facilities: These comprise of a fully staffed central laboratory and various imaging technologies such as X-ray’s, ultrasound, dopplers and CT scans all of which are available 24 hours a day.

Blood Bank: Well furnished with contemporary testing equipment and adequate amount of cold storage space.

**Community Services**

Health Training Centers: Distinct rural and urban health training centers were set up notably as field practice training sites of medical students to assist the less fortunate in the surrounding and distant areas.

Free Medical Services: The hospital offers free health services to certain groups of people who are poor and those who are in need, improving accessibility and utilization of health services across all socioeconomic classes.
