The KLE Society founded the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in 1963 in Belagavi along with the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research ( Deemed-to-be University). JNMC is located in Nehru Nagar, Belagavi Karnataka and it is under the KLE Academy. In India, JNMC is categorized as A, by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and it has been awarded "Grade A" by the NAAC. Internationally, as well as locally, JNMC has been recognized as a premier institution in the field of medicine.
