About
Medicine has been taught in English at Medical University Pleven since 1997 and was the first English taught medicine program in Bulgaria. The program has grown in scope and scale and now the university welcomes around one hundred and seventy students per year from all over the world. The program opens the door for hundreds of students who share the passion and determination for a career in Medicine. Designed for students graduating from high school, the program is a combined undergraduate and graduate education in medical science. The program is six years in length comprising of three parts.

The medicine program at Medical University Pleven is recognized across the world and we are proud that many of Medical University Pleven graduates are working at the cutting edge of medical practice in a variety of countries. European graduates are eligible to apply for full registration with the regulatory bodies (e.g. the General Medical Council of the Untied Kingdom) in all member states of the European Economic Area. Graduates from Medical University Pleven are also eligible to apply to sit for the United States Medical Licensing Examinations to work in the USA as well as the Medical Council of India examinations. Medical University Pleven is included in the World Directory of Medical Schools.
All programs at the University are accredited and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science and by the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency at the Council of Ministers. This Agency monitors the ability of institutions to provide high quality education and scientific research and is a full member of the following two European bodies: • The European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education – ENQA • The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education – EQAR
