The curriculum is designed by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) and the college operates under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Annually, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College admits 100 students into its MBBS program through a highly competitive national entrance examination. This exam, conducted by the Director of Medical Education under DGHS, includes a written MCQ test taken simultaneously across all government medical colleges in the country.
